PART XX. ЄВІ MINI-TEST
Digital technology has reduced many barriers to professional communication. A message can cross continents almost instantly, documents can be edited collaboratively, and meetings can take place without participants sharing the same physical location.
Yet faster communication does not automatically produce better communication.
The ability to contact colleagues at any moment can create an expectation of immediate response. Workers may interrupt complex tasks to answer messages that are neither important nor urgent. As communication increases, concentration may decrease.
Some organizations are therefore introducing clearer digital communication practices. Teams may distinguish between channels intended for urgent matters and those used for routine information. Employees may also be encouraged to protect periods of uninterrupted work.
The objective is not to communicate less. It is to communicate more deliberately.
