  • Leisure, Culture, Experiences & the Art of Switching Off

    Essential Question

If entertainment is supposed to help us relax, why do we sometimes finish our free time feeling more tired than before?

Entertainment has never been more accessible.

    Within seconds, we can:

stream a film • play a game • listen to music • visit a virtual museum • watch short-form videos • attend an online event • communicate with friends • explore another culture

Yet having unlimited entertainment does not necessarily mean using leisure time well.

Modern leisure raises surprisingly complex questions:

    Do hobbies make us happier?
Is watching a series for five hours really relaxation?
Why are live experiences still valuable when everything is available online?
Should employers care about employees' work-life balance?
Has entertainment become another form of consumption?
